When we weave yardage many things are made starting with the largest projects or pieces first and slowly as the pieces get cut into smaller bits they may be perfect for certain products. The blue went into an art piece for my alma mater Moore College of Art for the 160th anniversary and the other was the first fabric I wove on the loom I received from my weaving mentor and professor Deborah Warner. Sometimes there is just a moment when two fabrics clearly work together and I can pair them together and create a happy combo. The strap is also handwoven on the Inkle loom out of cotton and up-cycled acrylic from an old Gap sweater I frogged. You will also enjoy an eye catching sparkle from the cassette tape film I wove along with the turquoise silk and scrap yarns.
