ABOUT

Janell Wysock grew up with an interest in and love for pattern and color in nature. That love later translated into expression through textile design. The rhythm of sequences, light and texture found in the natural world is brought to life in her ready to wear creations made through the weaving process or hand loomed on the knitting machine.

Active in the Philadelphia arts community with a special attachment to her Alma mater, Moore College of Art and Design, Janell serves on the Alumni board and is involved in annual Alumni happenings. She teaches Young Artist Workshops at Moore and works with Multicultural Youth Exchange, whose mission is to teach youth social responsibility and how to be proactive in their community. Wysock also has been know to hold weaving classes to share her love of the craft. Originally she taught at the Cecilian Center for Earth Arts and Spirit in Mount Airy, and more recently in Old City at the MYX headquarters and soon at her 915 Spring Garden Street studio space which is a wonderful sensory visit for any fan of color, texture, and textile. Janell welcomes home school children, and small classes to visit to expand their idea of art, craft, and weaving on Fridays as well as those interested in seeing the newest fashionable products in her studio boutique. Contact Janell to arrange for an appointment.
